Summary

The graphic novel adaptations of the #1 New York Times bestselling Wings of Fire series continue to set the world on fire!

Peace has come to Pyrrhia。。。 for now。

The war between the tribes is finally over, and now the dragonets of the prophecy have a plan for lasting peace: Jade Mountain Academy, a school that will gather dragonets from all the tribes and teach them to live together, perhaps even as friends。

Moonwatcher isn't sure how she feels about school, however。 Hidden in the rainforest for most of her life, the young NightWing has an awful secret。 She can read minds, and even see the future。 Living in a cave with dozens of other dragons is noisy, exhausting—and dangerous。

In just a few days, Moon finds herself overwhelmed by her secret powers and bombarded by strange thoughts, including those of a mysterious dragon who might be a terrible enemy。 And when someone starts attacking dragons within the academy, Moon has a choice to make: Stay hidden and safe? Or risk everything to save her new friends?

The #1 New York Times bestselling Wings of Fire series soars to new heights in the sixth graphic novel adaptation, with art by Mike Holmes。

Loved this graphic novel adaptation of the 6th book of the Wings of Fire series - and the first book of my favorite of the three arcs (so far)。 The art is gorgeous, and they do a great job with the story。 This made me want to pick the books up again and do a re-read。 Highly recommend - both for readers who want an introduction to the longer middle grade novels as well as for readers who already love the novels。 I think readers can start here, but they will feel like they are missing part of the Loved this graphic novel adaptation of the 6th book of the Wings of Fire series - and the first book of my favorite of the three arcs (so far)。 The art is gorgeous, and they do a great job with the story。 This made me want to pick the books up again and do a re-read。 Highly recommend - both for readers who want an introduction to the longer middle grade novels as well as for readers who already love the novels。 I think readers can start here, but they will feel like they are missing part of the story if they haven't read the earlier arc。 。。。more

The colorist did a wonderful job in capturing the energy of this book。 With all the new face converging from all the different tribes for this big adventure, I was worried that things would become muddled but the color was vibrant when it needed to be and dark when it should be。 It had a nice affect on the eyes。 The illustrations were more daring in this one than the previous arc。 Especially in regards to the character introduction pages。 I do wish that the character designs were experimented wi The colorist did a wonderful job in capturing the energy of this book。 With all the new face converging from all the different tribes for this big adventure, I was worried that things would become muddled but the color was vibrant when it needed to be and dark when it should be。 It had a nice affect on the eyes。 The illustrations were more daring in this one than the previous arc。 Especially in regards to the character introduction pages。 I do wish that the character designs were experimented with。 All the characters were far too similar to one another and that wasn't as exciting to see page after page。 With such unique personalities captured, it's a shame that their designs couldn't really capture them。 Still very impressive work overall。 。。。more

"Don't wish to be ordinary, Moonwatcher。 Your powers are a gift。"Wow, I always love reading the graphic novel adaptations! It's always so fun to see how the novel was interpreted, and the art that comes out of it。Speaking of the art- I know a lot of people say that they don't like this authors way or drawing dragons, or "get someone who can actually draw dragons"。 Unpopular (apparently) opinion: I love the way he draws the dragons。 I feel like they accurately reflect the different tribes, an "Don't wish to be ordinary, Moonwatcher。 Your powers are a gift。"Wow, I always love reading the graphic novel adaptations! He just was more Sunny's color instead of usual pale SandWing- even though he's a full SandWing。 So I thought that was a little odd。So, the plot, same as Moon Rising, just with art。 I loved how they displayed Moon's abilities as a mind reader and her communications with Darkstalker。 I suppose that's all I have to say about this book, so now the three questions:Would I recommend this book?Yes! If you're a fan of the Wings of Fire books, the graphic novel adaptations are definitely worth the read! It's so fun to see the characters brought to life。If this was a movie, what would I rate it?PG。Will I continue reading the graphic novels as they're released?Definitely! I'm so excited to get a Winter POV next! ೄྀ࿐ ˊˎ-The Brightest Night: The Graphic Novel ★★★★The Dark Secret ★★★★The Hidden Kingdom ★★★★★The Lost Heir ★★★★★The Dragonet Prophecy ★★★★ 。。。more

very good!Five stars! I really enjoyed the art that finally allowed me to see what the dragons actually look like! I also really enjoyed the storyline from the original book。 I can not wait for the next book!

Favorite book, favorite comic。

I usually read these graphic versions so that I can better understand the descriptions that are provided in the non-graphic books。 This was amazing with designs that helped to show the world way better than the actual books。

I would like to state his will not be a review of the story, instead I will be discussing how accurately the book was adapted。Take my review with a grain of salt as I have not read moon rising in a long time, with that said the graphic novel was quite accurate though it had some mistakes。Such as in page 65, where Kinkajou is explaining the winglets。the silhouettes of the sand wing and mud wing are swapped and in page 145 where moon is with turtle, his wrist band seems to disappear and re appear i I would like to state his will not be a review of the story, instead I will be discussing how accurately the book was adapted。Take my review with a grain of salt as I have not read moon rising in a long time, with that said the graphic novel was quite accurate though it had some mistakes。Such as in page 65, where Kinkajou is explaining the winglets。the silhouettes of the sand wing and mud wing are swapped and in page 145 where moon is with turtle, his wrist band seems to disappear and re appear in the next panel, though this could simply be perspective。Despite that I would say the comic is a very accurate portrayal of the book and you can see Mike Holmes has been improving exponentially over the course of these adaptations。 。。。more

Since I read all the books in this series earlier this year they were pretty fresh in my memory。。。 and this graphic novel was pretty good。 It kept the important story bits though some were left out for obvious reasons, like it being too long in the end。 The characters were well drawn and I loved every single one 。。。 but IceWings- those black eyes made them look so odd and funny at certain points - they are supposed to look menacing and mysterious and they just look so funny sometimes it really t Since I read all the books in this series earlier this year they were pretty fresh in my memory。。。 and this graphic novel was pretty good。 It kept the important story bits though some were left out for obvious reasons, like it being too long in the end。 The characters were well drawn and I loved every single one 。。。 but IceWings- those black eyes made them look so odd and funny at certain points - they are supposed to look menacing and mysterious and they just look so funny sometimes it really takes you out。 My favourite panel has to be the one where moon delievers the prophecy at the end though, I could just imagine that creepy deep voice coming out of her and those white eyes。。。 that is perfection and I loved it。 Overall a pretty easy and quick read especially if you already know the story but I still enjoyed it a lot。 。。。more

Excellent adaptation。 I was worried that the mind-reading would get confusing, but the artist and colorist did a fantastic job differentiating voices and types of communication。

This, again, had horrible art of mountains and felt far to small。 It also made me realize that graphic novels are the worst medium of storytelling。

Addie

I started this book yesterday and I noticed on page 65 when Kinkajou is talking about meeting their winglet, that under a shadow of a sandwing is a box titled MUDWING: ? And under a shadow of a mudwing is a box titled SANDWING: ? I thought this was strange/funny。

One of the worst books in a bad series and - shockingly - I'm not fond of the comic adaptation! Something about the way the faces are drawn in this one especially is so irritating, too。 The NightWings have always looked bad, but somehow the majority of the main cast here looks wrong。 And again with the pacing! It's been a while since I've read the original book, but I swear it wasn't paced this badly - though I could very much be wrong, especially considering how poorly paced The Flames of Hope One of the worst books in a bad series and - shockingly - I'm not fond of the comic adaptation!
